Weekend Update

Sam is still doing really well. The doctor noticed a bit of fluid build-up on Sam's back, but said it was fairly normal and would keep an eye on it.

It was a busy weekend, filled with visits from friends and family:

  • Don, Sue and Brian
  • Janette, Don, Josh, Krystal and James-thanks for the gift!
  • Carol (Sam's Sunday School teacher) and Anthony (one of Sam's Sunday School classmates) - thanks for the card game, craft and snack!
  • Audra, Trevor and Kyle-thanks for the monkey bread, pumpkin bread and stew!
  • Becky, Calvin and Helen
One of the nurses today said, "You guys are becoming famous for your visitors". We are very lucky to live close by to Gillette, and so many friends and family can visit too.

Thanks to Uncle Don and Auntie Meegan, and Meegan's parents, Stan and Jolly, for sending gifts from Florida for Sam and Gabe. Both boys were very excited and loved the gifts, especially the homemade, personalized gift tags!

LeeAnn S. from Salem Lutheran dropped off a HUGE pan of lasagna for us on Friday night - thank you!!!

Sam enjoyed his first bath today (he's only had showers up until now because of the stitches/ster-strips on his back) - he loved the jacuzzi jets! I told the nurse that we're going to have to invest in a towel warmer because Sam is becoming pretty accustomed to the star treatment here at Gillette!
