Visitors - Tuesday, Nov. 18

Sam had a lot of visitors again today!

"Grandma" Barbie, a volunteer here at Gillette, stopped by and offered to entertain Sam for a while if I needed to take a break. So, while she read a story to Sam, I was able to have a nice phone conversation in the hall with my brother, who is an over-the-road truck driver, and was anxious to hear how Sam was doing.

Sam was reading the story, "Scooby Doo! Museum Madness", because he begged his new teacher, Miss Lisa, for homework. So, she told him he needed to read one story a day and write (with a grown-up's help), in his journal, the name of the book, who is in the book and what happened in the book (pretty advanced for a preschooler!). So, he did!

Jessica, Sam's PCA, spent the afternoon with us going to therapy (this is her only day off - thanks, Jess!). Since Jessica is a physical therapist's assistant (PTA), it was very valuable to include her in Sam's therapy process here at Gillette so she can then help Sam complete his home therapy program activities. Thanks for the presents, too!

George and Judy came up to visit too - it was great to see you - love the movies!

Then Dad, Grandma and Gabe came and visited over dinner. Grandpa Don and Uncle Brian came right toward the end of dinner. After a short visit, Sam was clearly getting pooped (he missed his nap today and still went to school and therapy all day!), so after medicine (given via chocolate pudding), he drifted off to sleep.
