Sam is waking up slowly from surgery - he's in some pain, but the nurses are great about helping him with pain medication. I was able to snuggle up next to him and hold him in the recovery room, and the nurse didn't want to move me and upset Sam, so I got a ride with Sam up to his room. The transition was rough for about 30 minutes or so, but Sam eventually calmed down. The lavender aromatherapy band-aid, the calming music and low lighting helped, in addition to the pain medication, and Mom and Dad holding Sam.
Thank you to the surgery waiting room crew: Marsha, Janette, Audra and Don! You were awesome! Rob and I really appreciated your support today.
