On our way to Sam's first physical therapy session this morning, Sam ran into his new classroom teacher at Gillette, Miss Lisa, and asked if he could start school today. Miss Lisa said that she had to get a little more information, but that he could start school tomorrow.
During physical therapy, there was a guitarist roaming around entertaining all the kids - Sam asked for some rock 'n roll and rocked out to Elvis and the Doobie Brothers.
Today marks the beginning of a busy therapy schedule, with P/T and O/T in the morning and afternoon, in addition to therapeutic recreation time, craft time, and school starting tomorrow. I'm wondering when Sam is going to get a nap in! But, not surprisingly, Sam is embracing all of this activity with his usual cheerful and determined self.
Sam's older brother Gabe is enjoying his visits with Sam, and is making himself at home here. He knows where the snacks are and the video games, and just helps himself! He also isn't afraid to just climb up on Sam's bed and watch movies with him. Gabe is a big comfort to Sam, and it is really endearing to watch the two of them together.
