One of Dr. Novacheck's residents just came in and said that Sam is doing really well, and could possibly go home on Saturday! First, the urologists have to come in over the next couple of days to see how he's doing, because apparently the foley catheter was a little more difficult than usual to insert prior to surgery.
After the catheter is removed (along with the epidural), then they have to wait and see if Sam can go to the bathroom without it. They also need to see what his pain levels are and what helps manage them. So, if he can go to the bathroom without the catheter and his pain levels can be well managed, he could go home on Saturday!
