9:30 p.m. Update

Whew! It was a busy day for Sam! He had lots of visitors: Grandma Marsha sat with him while I took Gabe to an appt in the early afternoon (thanks for the snacks, too!), Pastor Lynn stopped by with a beautiful quilt from the Salem Quilters, plus some new knock-knock jokes(!), and then Gabe played video games with Sam before he left for an overnight at Grandma's with cousin Calvin. Uncle Don stopped by to, you guessed it, play video games! Sam did stop playing for a while to eat fish sticks, rice and grapes while Don played Mario Tennis. Gillette has this cool Wii system on wheels, so you just have to plug it in and roll it to where you want it near the bed and start playing! This was still a hit when Dad showed up!

This evening, Sam got to get out of his room - in a cool reclining wheelchair- and go downstairs to see a dog show. A few minutes into the show, Sam fell asleep, so we took him back to his room, where he woke up and wanted to .....play video games!

Audra and her boys, Trevor and Kyle, came to visit and Sam was happy to show them how cool the portable Wii system is (this was a bribe to take his medicine and agree to be moved back into bed from his wheelchair). Trevor, Kyle and Audra made Sam "the biggest card ever", a t-shirt that says "Sammy" and two cool balloons. Plus, Audra shared a great big piece of cake from her 10th anniversary wedding cake - thanks!

Sam is sleeping now, getting rest for another big day tomorrow!
