Getting dressed

Sam did something today he's never done before - got himself dressed! Because of the tightness in his legs, he's never been able to pull his legs toward him to put on underwear, pants and socks, but today he did all three!!!

I love how thorough Gillette is with therapy - they think of every detail!

This morning, after getting dressed, Sam was fitted for new AFOs (ankle-foot orthotics) because his other ones weren't fitting properly, making it difficult to use the newest addition to his therapy - the stander. His new AFOs (Batman on the back!) will be ready tomorrow already!

The next three weeks will be full of hard work and, I'm sure, a lot of progress for Sam. Once he returns home on Dec. 19th, it will mark the beginning of intensive therapy as an outpatient. He'll begin attending private physical therapy every day, in addition to his regular schedule of occupational therapy and school!
